SSAIB Supports Engineers of Tomorrow - Apprentice Skills Challenge 2012

SSAIB Supports Engineers of Tomorrow - Apprentice Skills Challenge 2012

The SSAIB will be once again supporting the national competition for apprentice installers which will be taking place at IFSEC 2012 at the NEC Birmingham from the 14th  - 17th May 2012.  The competition tests the skills of apprentice security systems installers as they work against the clock in teams of two to critically assess a previously installed intruder alarm system, recommission it in line with EN standards and install extra detecting equipment. They also complete a short written test covering European standards.

Certificates are awarded to all competitors and there are prizes for the winners and runners-up each day. The top three teams overall attend the Security Excellence Awards in London in October where they will be presented with their awards.

The competition is supported with SSAIB working alongside NSI, Skills for Security and CSL Dualcom (the competition sponsor), SSAIB will also have its assessors on hand to help to run the competition and will evaluate the competency of the apprentices taking part.

The SSAIB would highly encourage any of its registered firms with apprentices to enter into the competition. For further information please click here
