Police Service of Scotland

On 1 April 2013, all police forces in Scotland are integrating into one force – “Police Service of Scotland”, which is the legal entity for the new force although the service will also refer to itself as “Police Scotland”.

With regards to Alarms Administration in the old Force areas, your police alarms administration contact will remain the same and payments should be sent to the same address as before for URN applications etc.replacing the name of the force with “Police Scotland”.  ARC's should continue to use the telephone numbers they have been provided for each region/old force area.

Any payments from 1 April 2013 should be made payable to “Scottish Police Authority”  although it is accepted that there may be alarms that have been processed prior to this notification and facilities have been put in place to accept cheques in the force names up to 31 May 2013.

Cheques received after 31st May 2013 not made payable to the 'Scottish Police Authority' will be returned with the application unprocessed.
Any companies who have a BAC’s arrangement must contact your local police alarms administrator who will advise account details for continued use of this service.
ACPOS Systems Security Policy

Over the last year the ACPOS Security Systems Policy has been reviewed and a draft version was released to the industry for consultation. The feedback from this consultation is currently under review.

Please note that any policy etc that currently refers to ACPOS or one of the Scottish forces will be legally competent after 1 April 2013 and will continue to be so until 1 April 2014, or until replaced with an updated Police Scotland policy.
