Long-Serving SSAIB Board Member George Hodge Passes Away

SSAIB are sad to hear the news that former long-standing board member George Hodge has passed away, at the age of 88.

Following a distinguished army career, George was engaged in technical training roles which subsequently included running City & Guilds training courses for the NSCIA. He later joined Security Publications and - as Editorial Director there - worked on magazines including Security Installer, Security Industry and European Security Installer.

George joined SSAIB’s board in 1994 - prior to its merger with the AISC and Integrity 2000 inspectorates - and was a stalwart supporter of SSAIB for over 20 years, until his retirement from the board in 2015.

“George made a significant contribution to SSAIB, providing us with valuable advice based on his wide ranging industry experience,” commented Chief Executive Alex Carmichael. “In November 2015, we said a fond farewell to him at our end-of-year board meeting and we would like to extend our condolences to George’s wife Jan, his other family, friends and former industry colleagues.”
